When it comes to the world-changers, what comes to our minds are often the rational, iron-willed heroes who bear his tragic fate alone. But can the liberators of the world be full of empathy and curiosity? And the “SHE” who nurtures and creates life with the ability to love? Feminism, which has been hailed as the longest revolution, does not ask for sharing a equal role on the world stage with men; it is not only about “HER”story of being oppressed, but also the collective memory of the repressed desire, sexual discipline and social exploitation:the shadow behind the heroic triumphal history.

說到改變世界的人物，在普通人的腦海中浮現的，往往是理性的、鐵血的，獨自背負著沉重命運的英雄，但改變世界的解放者，可不可以是充滿同理心與好奇心的，圍繞著愛的能力延續與創造生命的「她者」？被喻為最長的革命的女性主義，不但只是為了與男性在世界舞台上平分秋色，沉澱在其漫長歷史中的不止是「她」遭受壓迫的過程，更是一種紀錄著人受壓抑的愛慾、性別規訓與社會剝削的社群記憶——是英雄的勝利史背後的陰影。

The triumphal history of capitalism comes to 2022, and the shadow behind it seems even more bleak. In her new book, Socialist Feminism: A New Approach, the Iranian-American feminist Frieda Afary summarizes humanity's current crisis: privatization of social services, overexploitation of natural resources, outbreaks of COVID-19, signs of totalitarianism, escalation of surveillance and violence etc. These events endanger the continuation of the human race, and women, who shoulders most of the reproductive burden, are at the crossroads of history. Can feminist thiniking and activism bring a better future? The New Left Society has invited Frieda Afary to discuss her analysis of totalitarianism and the direction of the current feminist movement, as well as how different feminist theories can work together and reach a world beyond patriarchal rule.

資本主義的勝利史來到2022年，背後的陰影似乎更為黯淡。伊朗裔女性主義活動家法里達 ．阿法里（Frieda Afary）在她的新書 Socialist Feminism: A New Approach 中總結了人類當前的危機：社會服務私有化、自然資源的過度開發、疫情的爆發、極權主義的苗頭、監視與暴力手段的升級等，這些事件都危及著人類的延續，而女性又處於再生產領域的前線，位於歷史的十字路口，女性主義的思想資源與歷史記憶可以帶來一個更好的未來嗎？新左學社邀請了作者阿法里討論書中有關極權主義的分析與當前女性主義運動的走向，以及女性主義不同派別的思想如何導向一個超越父權統治的世界。
